Our team and proven partners train in some very difficult high-risk, hard to reach places in this world. This recent story reveals a big part of who we are, and where our partners live and what they face.

They Cannot Be Confiscated

One young woman in Africa explained how Islamists came to their house searching for Bibles or any Christian material. They didn’t find any, so they left. She came to an SIU Bridges for Women training so she could learn how to share the Gospel through storytelling. This allows her to share God’s Word without printed Christian materials. Since she has stored the Bible stories in her heart, she now shares them without fear because they cannot be confiscated. After the training, she said, “Now I have a powerful tool to reach Islamic women, who can possibly reach their husbands, through Bible stories.”

The Word of God memorized in Story and stored in people’s hearts and minds is a game changer! The Gospel continues on even when they confiscate Bibles and persecute His church, His body of believers. We have seen this throughout history, and we see this everywhere we and our partners go. It is the unstoppable power of God!

Crazy that there are places in the world where this is going on. Takes us back to the first century. Bless their hearts for having to deal with such oppression.
