Breaking Through Hostility

A couple of years ago, an SIU Bridges training participant, in an Asian country with few Christians, asked the trainers to travel to a remote area to hold a Bridges training with a small group of believers. The region is considered unreached and has been known to be hostile to the Gospel. One of the trainers traveled to this remote and dangerous area in 2024. Many advised him not to take the risk. Through much prayer, he, along with his wife and small child believed the Lord was telling them to go. Though they experienced some scary moments, they wrote, “God took the fear out of us. Praise the Lord. The local contact in the area has reported that there has been major breakthroughs because of the training, saying, ‘The Bridges storytelling model is the best for reaching this people group.’ We have been asked to return. We will go and do a follow up training in 2025 by God’s grace.”

Confident to Share the Gospel

“I was the only believer in my family. My husband and family didn’t believe in Jesus. Before coming to an SIU Bridges for Women training, I wanted to share the gospel with people in my family, but did not know how. After going through the training, I am confident that I can teach and share His Word through story. When I got home, I began to share the Word of God through story with my husband and family. Six of my family members now believe in the Lord. Praise Jesus. I am sharing stories every day with people in my local area. Let the Lord use this for His glory.”

Storytellers Reaching and Engaging the Lost

Here are the totals from the reports we have received from our partners with our Bridges Training Networks Across the Globe in 2024:

• 51 Heart Languages represented in these Bridges Trainings
• 23 Countries with Bridges Trainings
• 26,410 Bridges Training Event Participants
• 39,358 New Believers
• 4,670 New Churches Planted

These figures are incredible but also conservative as we only receive back approx. 80% of our follow-up partner evaluation reports each year.  Some of our partners live and work in hostile or very remote countries or regions and are unable to provide formal reports.

We are truly blessed to be associated with such faithful partners and their networks through whom God is doing amazing work, advancing His kingdom through oral Scripture engagement.
