Empowering Women to Equip, Train and Reach Other Women
We are seeing an increasing number of our “Bridges for Women” (BFW) training partners reporting that many of the local indigenous women in their networks are quickly becoming “Master Trainers” and are able to plant oral Bible churches and make new disciples in the harvest fields of Asia and Africa! Many of the women who attend our trainings are natural storytellers, have access into many homes, and have an open door to reach other women and children. The Word of God is full of powerful stories about women that help women fall in love with Jesus, our Savior! These ladies truly feel empowered and are asking us to help them pioneer into new harvest fields and to help raise up new local indigenous women trainers with additional BFW trainings. We need your financial help to provide assistance for these training events.
Unreached People Groups
It is estimated that 90% of the remaining unreached, unengaged people of the earth, representing an estimated 3.3 billion people (according to JoshuaProject.net) are currently living in oral cultures. Conservatively, we might see 10 new Oral Bible Churches/house churches and 100 new believers in a few months following a “Bridges” training in the field! SIU, its partners, and their networks of leaders are strategically positioned to accelerate the task of the Great Commission within oral cultures around the world.
Miraculous Results
Using the SIU “Bridges” equipping and training approach, our proven partners and their networks of believers use word for word Bible storytelling as they get to know a new community, seeking a person of peace who can open doors, providing access to share more stories of Scripture with the community. This pattern has been repeated in many new areas around the world and our partners have seen miracles happen as the Holy Spirit opens people’s hearts to receive the Good News. This can lead to an organic movement within a people group, with people passing the stories and the Good News on to others. This exponential growth can lead to the people group becoming an “engaged and reached people group.” The miraculous result in the local community: many new storytelling fellowships, new Oral Bible churches/house churches, new believers, new disciples, and more people trained, equipped and inspired to see the advance of the Gospel and growth of God’s Kingdom in areas never reached before.
Training Event Cost
Our “Bridges” training events held in pioneering areas at a local or regional level cost approx. $3,000 USD per training, depending on the number of people attending, the specific country and city of the training, and the number of trainers who are traveling. Typical class sizes range from 20 to 40 people, depending on the specific training and the partner ministries being trained. On average, we typically see at least 3-6 of the Bridges training participants become passionate about using the Bridges Oral Arts approach and they soon become Master Trainers and Orality Champions in their own communities and regions beyond.

Dear Kent,
It is a joy for me to be reminded that Bridges for Women master trainers continue to be equipped and empowered to train others. It is a powerful tool for indigenous women and so reproducible. It is almost Christmas and I think of a time in Islamabad when I watched a dear sister read the Luke story of Mary with her cousin Elizabeth. There was no time in class for her to memorize the story so I asked her to do a dramatic reading that would make the story come alive. ” For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my. womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she whole believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.”
The narrator’s voice rose and fell in poetic Urdu. Her arms moved in rhythm to the words. Tears came to the listeners’ eyes. The women in class wondered how she had learned to communicate Scripture like this for as she told us, she had never done a dramatic reading before in her life. As your blog attests, there is so much gifting and talent out there and every training event is an immense opportunity we can all be a part of through our giving. Thank you.
Thank you for this beautiful story, Carla. The Holy Spirit and the joy of the Lord often shows up in our women’s trainings in the harvest fields. Blessings this Christmas, Kent
