Seeking Like-Minded Kingdom Collaboration

SIU Core Values

My colleagues on the SIU team often talk about the value of being like-minded with those we choose to collaborate with. Without shared values and complementary approaches to ministry, collaboration can become a mess. To avoid this, we keep our distinct core values in focus. First and foremost, we highly value and respect our international partners across Asia and Africa. We pursue partnerships of trust with Indigenous partners and the leaders in their networks. Here are our main core values:

  • Partnerships of Trust
  • Empowered Indigenous Leadership
  • Respect of Local Culture and Language
  • Unreached Oral Peoples
  • Scripture Engagement
  • Accurate Scripture Memorization
  • Lifelong Learners
  • The Oral Arts
  • Reproducibility and Sustainability

Reproducible and Sustainable

SIU seeks to follow Jesus’ example by giving everyone access to God and His Word in their own cultural communication forms and heart language. This approach is reproducible and sustainable, producing leaders from within the culture, advancing the Kingdom of God. Therefore, lives and whole communities are transformed. The end goal is to see disciples making disciples and for all to be reached and engage with the living Word of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We thank God for our 50+ current international partners and continue to ask the Lord to guide us as we collectively seek to reach and engage the lost in oral cultures. An estimated 5.7 to 6.5 billion people live in oral cultures around the world. That’s approximately 70-80% of the world’s current population. An estimated 3 to 3.5 billion people live in oral cultures and have yet to be reached and engaged with the Gospel. In fact, 90% of the world’s remaining unreached people are of oral cultures. These unreached people are most likely to be transformed through storytelling and other orality-based strategies, connecting with them through the communication forms they understand best. We enjoy collaborating with like-minded followers of Christ. Please reach out to us if you align well with SIU and our ministry model.

Help Keep the Momentum

We are two-thirds of the way toward achieving the $30,000 new donor matching grant challenge! Would you help us meet this challenge by sharing this opportunity with those you know who might be interested in collaborating as donors to reach and engage the lost living in oral cultures?

Historically and conservatively, each group of 20 trained leaders from our Bridges training events has led to 60 new believers and 12 new house churches in the first year alone!

Donations can be made here:

Our God is on the move! He is advancing His Kingdom among oral cultures. Thank you for being a part of finishing the task of the Great Commission He has called us to.

About Kent Kiefer

Kent Kiefer is the CEO & Executive Director of Scriptures in Use (SIU). He has over twenty-three years of International Ministry experience; in his eleventh year with SIU, and previously four years with a faith-based International Missions’ Sending Agency (“ABWE”) and eight years with a faith-based International Parachurch ministry (“Focus on the Family”).

Kent has a heart and passion for “reaching the unreached” and believes strongly that the oral arts, communication bridges training approach designed specifically for the indigenous men and women of peace around the world is one of the most effective means to reach the nations with the Gospel.

Kent is widowed after his wife Melissa (“Missy”) was promoted into Glory in November 2021 after a 14-year battle with Parkinsons Disease, and has four children (all college age young adults). The Kiefers are involved with two local churches with the body of Christ in Southeast Tucson (“Grace Church of Sahuarita” and “Pantano Christian”).
