Pioneering Partners Reaching the Unreached

At SIU, we seek to see Scripture used and applied in the lives of unreached, oral peoples around the world. We equip and train oral people to make disciples who experience God through His Word in their own heart language and culture. We do so through partner relationships with Spirit led indigenous men and women across Asia and Africa, and their networks of leaders, through SIU Bridges training events. Those trained at these events, along with follow-up Coaching and Mentoring, are equipped with tools for effective evangelism and church planting.

According to the most recent Joshua Project research (www.joshuaproject.net), of the remaining unreached people groups on the earth, it is estimated that there are 3.5 Billion people remaining to be reached with the Gospel. That is 43% of the earth’s total population. Of these remaining unreached peoples, it is estimated that approximately 90% are of oral cultures. Traditional western, literacy-based evangelism and discipleship models do not work, or progress very slowly, among oral cultures.

And that is where we and our SIU partners enter into this opportunity…

Access to Unreached People Groups

Our proven, vetted SIU partners have proximity access to other unreached people groups within their surrounding regions. SIU partners and the Master Trainers in their networks travel to these areas to equip and train. Direct partner Bridges training grants help accelerate this process. Training grants average in the range of $3,000 to $4,000 (US) per training event, depending on field costs and currency exchange in that specific region. Our partners and the leaders in their networks can do this much easier than our U.S. based trainers. They are closer to the action, speak multiple languages, and are familiar with many of the local customs and cultural practices. This is the heart, strength, and DNA of SIU’s model. We equip and empower our partners to foster new movements in their regions, creating catalytic, organic growth that produces self-sustaining multiplication in the field. The Gospel message delivered through oral Scripture engagement to the unreached is transforming hearts and minds of those living in oral cultures.
